We’re still buzzing about what a great show Pack Expo 2023 was in Las Vegas this past September! We brought the entire group of EDGE companies—Leverwood Knife Works, Pearl Technologies and TGW International—to the three-day event. And our booth was full of activity! A big thank you to everyone who came by to connect with our teams and see our products first-hand.
In fact, according to the show’s producer, PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, Pack Expo 2023 was the highest attendance in Las Vegas ever for this show. Over 32,000 attendees interacted with more than 2,300 exhibitors across 1 million net square feet of exhibit space at the Las Vegas Convention Center. PMMI is calling this the most important Pack Expo Las Vegas in its history!
We also found this was our best Pack Expo show in terms of total qualified leads. Overall, we had a wonderful show with great consistent traffic. We received lots of positive feedback about our booth, including that it was bright and eye-catching and highlighted all three companies in a clear and approachable way.
In addition, the EDGE-sponsored golf cart gave rides to attendees from South Hall to the main entrance all three days. It was a neat way for attendees to get around!
We all came to the same conclusion that exhibitors overall seemed very pleased with the show. Even the last day was well attended past noon, which is unusual for a last day of a trade show.
Our sales teams are already into lead follow ups, meetings and quoting. For instance, there is high interest in the Pearl prototype unit for slitting/cutting dog bone and zipper pouches.
By the way, if you haven’t checked it out yet, be sure to read our Pack Expo preview where we highlighted all the exciting technology we shared at the show!
Sustainability is Here to Stay
Sustainability was a huge focus at the show, which continues to be the key buzz word in the industry. According to PMMI, as reported in the latest State of the Industry report, sustainability remains top of mind.
PMMI said thousands of attendees visited the new Sustainability Central exhibit to take a journey through the sustainability process. They were also able to visit the hundreds of exhibitors showcasing sustainable materials and machinery at the show.
We can attest that sustainability is a hot topic in the packaging industry. At the show, we had lots of discussions centered around sustainable solutions.
Across all EDGE brands, customers were talking about new developments in film, due to the push for sustainability, and the challenges they’re seeing with cutting/punching. We talked with a major supplier of a packaged product using a new monomer film that is causing them issues, and Leverwood is already on the case developing prototypes for them to test.
We look forward to seeing the packaging community at the Pack Expo International taking place on Nov. 3-6, 2024 in Chicago!
